100% Volunteer Based Charity Uses 100% of Donated Funds for Foundation Projects
TAMPA, Fla. - March 8, 2016 - PRLog -- With over 1.5 million nonprofit organizations in the U.S., it can be a challenge for donors to determine where to give. Nick Peters, CEO of Prometheus Management IV of Clearwater, FL, has always been a staunch supporter of charitable groups which support our military service members. However, Mr. Peters began seeking a non-profit that would provide the greatest percentage of funds donated directly to the cause, versus funds used for overhead and operational expenses.

With our service men and women and their families in mind, Mr. Peters founded the Armed Forces Families Foundation (AFFF) in 2006. The goal of the AFFF was to provide one hundred percent of its funds back to the military community allowing the non-profit to make a greater impact.

In the beginning, the Foundation was to include one project per year to be funded by Mr. Peters with all projects benefiting military service personnel and their families. Later, Mr. Peters enlisted the help of John Wright, President of Restaurant Operations for Prometheus Franchise Restaurant Holdings (a Taco Bell franchisee) and Thaddeus Foster, COO of Southeast QSR, to help further grow the Foundation. Wright and Foster facilitated volunteer-based fundraising efforts as well as helped navigate the required approvals from various military branches to complete projects with donated funds.

As the AFFF began to expand, Peters ensured the Clearwater, FL-based Foundation maintained a very clear mandate: The Foundation would be one hundred percent volunteer-driven with one hundred percent of funds raised going directly towards Foundation projects. Additionally, dollars raised in local communities would stay local.

The mission of the AFFF is to help the greatest number of current and former military personnel and their families. Therefore, the AFFF primarily provides donations for large scale infrastructure projects.  Previous projects include family centers, playgrounds and school upgrades on military bases, as well as upgrades at VA hospitals. The AFFF has also partnered with the local branch of the USO on a number of projects.

Reaching its 10th year of operation, the Foundation is proud to announce that over $1.5M has been raised to support military men and women and their families. The dollars raised have been used to complete 21 infrastructure projects. Some of the recently completed projects include:

·         Newly Upgraded Day Room at the James A. Haley VA Spinal Cord Injury Unit, Tampa, FL

·         Playground – Lake Wonderwood Trail Project at Mayport Naval Station, FL

·         USO Kitchen Remodel at NAS Pensacola, FL

A complete list of projects with further details can be found online at www.armedforcesfamilies.org. The non-profit is committed to funding multiple projects in the coming year that can be enjoyed by our military service men and women along with their families.

“It’s truly awe-inspiring to see the level of generosity shown by our local communities,” said Founder and Managing Director of the AFFF, Nick Peters. “By working together, we have been able to help military families. It is difficult to repay the debt we owe to our service men and women,” said Peters.
