US SMALL/MIDCAPS-Shares boosted by consumer stocks, earnings

NEW YORK, Nov 5 (Reuters) - Midcap shares rose to their highest level in more than two years on Friday and were eyeing their best week in nine on gains in consumer discretionary stocks and some better-than-expected earnings results.
