In cooperation with the Taylor Farms voluntary recall, Safeway is voluntarily recalling five Signature Café prepared salads and two salads sold at deli counters.
The salad products were made by Taylor Farms using grape tomatoes sourced from grower Six L’s that were recalled due to possible Salmonella contamination.
The recalled Signature Café and deli salads were sold at Safeway, Vons, Pavilions and Pak N Save stores in multiple states. Signature Café salads are packaged in plastic trays. Deli salads are packaged in round plastic deli containers. The following products with specified UPC codes and Use By dates sold in specified states are affected:

No illnesses have been reported. Safeway initiated this recall as a precautionary measure.
Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, the elderly, and persons with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and/or abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
