US SMALL/MIDCAPS-Financials drop on lack of debt deal

NEW YORK, July 25 (Reuters) - Small and mid-cap stocks were lower on Monday, led down by financials as the lack of a deal to raise the U.S. debt ceiling drove fears over the prospect of a default.
