daFlores international florist reaches 250,000 Facebook Likes

By: PRLog
PR Log - Aug 08, 2011 - When daFlores.com launched its Facebook page, it wasn't necessarily expecting much. Facebook pages were a new innovation and the international flower delivery company wanted to get its feet wet in social media, but growth was initially slow. Only when daFlores started posting weekly special offers and highlighting its floral offerings did membership truly start to go viral; the Facebook page has now gained a quarter-million “Likes.”

It took daFlores.com about a year to reach 100,000  “Likes,” and just over another year to hit this new milestone. The page now gains a few hundred followers every week, as word gets around that here is a company that truly engages its customers and meets them where they interact online.

“We do things differently at daFlores,” explains Francisco Bustos, CEO and President of daFlores.com.  “The majority of our customers are Spanish-speaking, so we run our page in Spanish. We listen to our customers and implement their best suggestions. We figure out what annoys them and fix it, and do more of the things they like.”

Facebook, he continues, has been an excellent place to get open feedback from flower delivery customers.

daFlores.com developed its own Facebook application that allows visitors to send virtual flowers to one another. Its weekly flower giveaways and frequent discounts also help, and postings remind fans that holidays of various kinds are coming up.

“We are always in search of new ways to serve our customers,” says Mr. Bustos. “Our 250,000 Facebook followers are a fantastic testimonial for daFlores.com's ability to listen to and meet their needs. That's a quarter of a million people who enjoy our flowers. We are very proud and excited to have reached this milestone.”
