ADR REPORT-European banks cut gains sharply late

NEW YORK, Sept 27 (Reuters) - U.S.-listed shares of overseas companies rose over 2 percent on Tuesday, but European bank stocks ended sharply off session highs after a report said some euro zone members were trying to force bigger writedowns for private holders of the region's shaky government debt.
