Heather is a self-employed Consultant Nurse Educator at Rural Emergency Care Consultants and Heather Schubert and Associates. She also serves as a Consultant Nurse Educator and Co- Convener of Basic Life Support Instructor Programs with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation and conducts acute care seminars with Ausmed Conferences Inc. Over the course of her 40 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Heather has gained extensive expertise in critical care nursing education, development of training programs and nurse education consultancy, serving as an excellent example of accomplishment and dedication to anyone in the field.
During her collegiate career, Heather earned a post graduate Diploma in Nurse Education and Bachelor’s degree in Nursing/Education from Flinders University. She also completed Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. Heather was the recipient of a Churchill Fellowship in 1974 to study developments in critical care nursing and education in USA and UK and was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in 2009 for her services to Critical Care Nursing and Education. She is a member of the Royal College of Nursing Australia (RCNA) and the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses (ACCCN) and holds committee positions with RCNA and the Australian Resuscitation Council.
