Surge In Home Sales Lifts Homebuilders

A surge in January new home sales lifted shares of Hovnanian Enterprises Inc. (NYSE: HOV) 59 cents to close at $5.79, PulteGroup Inc. (NYSE: PHM) $1.03 to close at $19.05 and Standard Pacific Corp. (NYSE: SPF) 64 cents to close at $8.04.
