OBJE Poised for Explosion in Holiday App Downloads

With mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones poised to be the top-selling gifts this holiday season, growing game-maker OBJ Enterprises (OTCBB: OBJE) and other industry experts anticipate an explosion in the number of apps downloaded for the new mobile hardware.

NBC News reported last week that during the fourth calendar quarter, twice as many apps are downloaded than in a typical quarter. Unsurprisingly, most of the action in the final quarter comes from downloads happening in December, when kids and adults are both unwrapping brand-new mobile gadgets.

Apple’s (NASDAQ: AAPL) App Store traditionally sees a surge in the number of apps downloaded in December. Last year, a record of more than 2 billion apps were downloaded during the month. Most popular among users were entertainment and gaming apps, according to data from the mobile research firm Localytics.

Even large game developers such as Rockstar Games are planning to take advantage of the boom by releasing old hits like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for mobile devices. OBJE plans to capitalize on the year-end boom in app downloads with its hot new gaming titles, Phantasmic and Bluff Wars 2.0. Both have been earning the company revenues since launching earlier this year on the Apple App Store and Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) Play platforms.

The company plans to submit a third original game, Creature Tavern, to the app markets this week.

Obscene Interactive, OBJE’s gaming division, is working to deliver a wide range of innovative gaming products for the Apple App Store and Google Play platforms alongside companies such as Electronic Arts (NYSE: EA) and Zynga, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZNGA).
