STARTEK Announces Expansion to Tegucigalpa, Honduras

STARTEK (NYSE:SRT) a provider of business process outsourcing services announced today the signing of a lease for a new contact center in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

This is the second location in Honduras for STARTEK. San Pedro Sula, the first location for STARTEK, currently employs approximately 1,300.

“The addition of another center in Honduras was driven by client demand,” said Chad Carlson, STARTEK’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “The market in Tegucigalpa is great for our business with a highly educated labor pool. San Pedro Sula was our first center and also introduced our industry to the country. We anticipate Tegucigalpa to be another great location for us.”

The city of Tegucigalpa is the capitol of Honduras and the country’s largest city. With a population nearing 1.3 million, the city is home to twelve institutions of higher learning.

Grupo Karims, a multi-national corporation with businesses in Asia, North America, Central America and the Caribbean is STARTEK’s development partner for San Pedro Sula’s Altia Business Park. Tegucigalpa will be a similar development.
