British grocer Waitrose beats rivals with quarterly sales rise

LONDON, May 2 (Reuters) - British grocer Waitrose lifted sales by 6.5 percent in the first quarter, it said on Friday, outperforming rivals and delivering a record share of an increasingly competitive market.
