Business Growth in the Carolinas Requires New Influx of Licensed and Certified Builders and Contractors

Not only is that great for the infrastructure of the states, but also with the increase in population of employees and their families, well-qualified and board certified contractors will be called upon for the various projects needed.
To prove its growth, and its potential, North Carolina boasted two cities on the Forbes' 2014 list of the Fastest Growing Cities in America. Raleigh topped out with the number two spot while Charlotte clocked in at number eight. This growth means a lot for the communities in the two states, but it also means a lot for the building and construction industry. In fact, the Charlotte Observer, in March of this year, noted that North Carolina is expected to have an increase of 60,000 jobs, with the construction sector being one of the industries poised to see growth. While many industries were hit hard during the 2008 recession, construction--especially new construction--across the country seemed to come to a stand still. The Carolinas' construction industry was no different. But this promise of industry growth requires the training of qualified contractors who will continue to encourage further growth in North and South Carolina and get the construction industry back on its feet.

To support this new construction growth, the need for qualified, licensed contractors and builders is larger than ever. The process to become a licensed contractor and builder requires passing the state's licensing exam. Difficult exams with up to a 60% fail rate on first attempts, they ensure that only the best candidates are being licensed and certified in the field.
Some of the fields requiring an exam to be considered a licensed contractor or builder in the Carolinas are Building Contractor, Home Inspector, Residential Contractor, and the Limited and Unlimited Building Contractors. There is also the exam to become nationally accredited with the NASCLA program.
"The tests are tough, but with the correct study and preparation, students can pass the exams on the first attempt," said Yade.
