Sam’s Club Opens in Burleson, Bringing Value and Innovation

Sam’s Club will open a newly relocated club at 600 N. Burleson Blvd. following an 8 a.m. Grand Opening ceremony Thursday, July 10, providing a preferred member shopping experience to the region. The membership warehouse club will provide residents and small business owners the opportunity to access incredible savings on quality products, to experience innovative technology and to share in the grand opening excitement with local showcase events.

“We cannot wait to serve the Burleson community at our new location,” said Club Manager David Perraut. “We’ve taken great care to make sure our members will find the club full of exciting merchandise at an amazing value. We also look forward to introducing our new club to our friends and neighbors that enjoyed shopping at our club at 2440 S.E. Loop in Fort Worth.”

Grand Opening ceremony features local officials, special events and offerings

Mayor Ken Shetter, along with Burleson Chamber of Commerce ambassadors, will participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony. The Burleson Fire Department will lead the posting of the colors.

The club also looks forward to hosting a special appearance and autograph signing opportunity from Dallas Cowboy retiree Charles Haley, from 1 to 3 p.m. on grand opening day.

To add even more excitement to the celebration the club will be joined by local favorite, Jim and Lor’s Candy Store. Headquartered in Arlington, Texas, Jim and Lor’s Candy Store will be on-site to sell their candied caramel apples and members can pick three for $11.98. In addition to providing members a chance to purchase local products, Sam’s Club is also introducing an innovative product with Marvel 3D Printing. The 3D experience allows members to transform themselves into personalized 3D characters. This attraction will let attendees get a 3D face scan and cast themselves as a Marvel superhero. If they wish, they may take home a personalized 3D printed action figure. This showcase delivers the first-ever mobile personalized merchandise platform for 3D printing that makes fans part of the story.

Members will find the products they purchase regularly, and the brands they aspire to, all at amazing values. A few of those unexpected finds include*:

  • VIZIO 50” Class LED Smart HDTV for $528
  • HP® 15.6” Notebook for $299
  • Ninja® Mega Kitchen System for $159.98
  • Assorted Sampler Pie for $9.98
  • Pork Loin Backribs for $2.98 per pound

Quality products help small businesses and busy families

Sam’s Club is expanding upon its unique, shopper-friendly experience with this Burleson club. Busy families can rely on fresh produce, quality meats and home meal solutions, while office supplies, vending machine snacks and paper goods prepare small business members for success. Other benefits for small business owners include early shopping hours, personal shopping through Click ‘n’ Pull, truck-load savings and access to quality items most often used by foodservice businesses, restaurant owners and caterers. Click ‘n’ Pull provides an innovative way for members to save time by using SamsClub.com to select items to be picked up at the club.

Measuring approximately 136,000 square feet, the new club will feature a variety of members-only amenities, including a fresh bakery, a tire and battery center, a café and a fuel station.

A number of health and wellness services are also available. The Sam’s Club Pharmacy, open to both members and the public, features many $4 and $10 generic prescriptions, as well as extraordinary savings on branded prescriptions. In addition to everyday low prices, the Optical Center offers $40 off each additional pair of regularly priced prescription eyeglasses with the purchase of a complete pair of eyeglasses at regular price. Lastly, at the Hearing Aid Center, premium technology in hearing aids and personal listening devices is available from a licensed specialist.

Free health screenings, open to members and the public, will be given opening day from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and July 11 and 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to assess total cholesterol (risk ratio), HDL (good cholesterol), glucose, blood pressure, body mass index and vision and hearing screening/testing.

New club celebrates opening by providing local grants

To staff the new Burleson club, Sam’s Club has provided the opportunity for associates to remain with the club as it transitions to a new building. Sam’s Club and parent company Walmart currently employ more than 154,000 people in the state of Texas and have provided more than $111 million through cash and in-kind donations from store, clubs and the Walmart Foundation.

“Our associates are excited to celebrate the new club by giving to organizations that are near and dear to our hearts,” said Perraut. “I look forward to many years in the Burleson community and appreciate the opportunity to work together with its leaders to make this an even better city for our children.”

In that spirit of giving back, Sam’s Club has selected several local non-profit organizations to benefit from special grants totaling $10,000 as part of the Grand Opening celebration, including: American Lung Association, Cariety Foundation, City of Burleson, David Bauman Foundation, Epilepsy Foundation of Texas, Mundofox Canal 52, National MS Society, Sam’s Search 4 a Cure and Special Olympics of Texas.

New MasterCard Brings Additional Savings to Burleson Members’ Wallets

Sam’s Club recently introduced a new credit card cash back program that gives members the opportunity to earn 5 percent cash back on fuel, 3 percent cash back on dining and travel, and 1 percent cash back on all other purchases, up to $5,000 annually. Available June 23, the Sam’s Club 5-3-1 cash back program on its new co-branded MasterCard, issued by GE Capital Retail Bank, is available to qualifying Sam’s Savings, Sam’s Business and Sam’s Plus members. The cash back value proposition makes the new Sam’s Club program the most competitive credit reward program in the club category. Additionally, each credit card has an embedded chip that makes the card more difficult to duplicate, which provides enhanced security from fraudulent activity. Sam’s Club is the first mass retailer to actively implement chip-enabled technology.
