Bank of America Named Rising Star at Annual Susan G. Komen Leadership Conference

Susan G. Komen® honored Bank of America as the 2014 “Rising Star” partner during the annual Susan G. Komen Leadership Conference, held July 17-19 in Fort Worth, Texas. The Rising Star award is presented to a partner who has strengthened its commitment to Komen’s mission by expanding its programs and exploring new ways to engage with Komen.

Bank of America has contributed nearly $6 million to Susan. G. Komen — $850,000 in 2014 alone — from the Pink Ribbon credit card and checking programs since 2009. The Pink Ribbon Banking products include Susan G. Komen branded debit and credit cards, which both generate contributions to Komen to aid in breast cancer research and education.

In addition, in 2014, Bank of America is once again a National Survivor Recognition Program sponsor for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® series and the presenting sponsor for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day™ series.

“Bank of America continues to develop new ways of working with Komen across all channels. Their dedication to creating a true strategic partnership that provides value to both Komen and Bank of America is truly unparalleled, as they continuously invest the time and resources needed to build and expand,” said Norm Bowling, Komen’s Chief Revenue and Marketing officer.

“It is with great pleasure that we recognize Bank of America for their continued support of the Komen organization and the significant growth they have achieved throughout the year, as there is no one more deserving of this award,” he added.

“Breast cancer has touched many of us in some way — family members, co-workers and friends — and Bank of America is proud to support Komen through sponsorships and with our Pink Ribbon Banking products,” said Jake Frego, Affinity Products executive. “This partnership also resonates with our employees, as each year, thousands of our teammates across the country participate in and volunteer for walks to raise awareness and find a cure.”
