It's a reality show about a reality show. A show about nothing, but something...as the crew follows a family that runs a multi-million dollar construction company in the heart of New York.

Something fresh and new in the world of docu-reality tv is hitting the tube tonight.

From Dimension TV and Matador comes a show about a colorful family that runs a multi-million dollar construction business, but with a twist. The production crew at times become part of the show.

It’s a behind the scenes look at how reality tv is made while a reality tv show is being made. Every reality shows needs a cast of characters to capture the audience, and everyone is looking for that diamond in the rough.

This family fits the bill perfectly and is not shy to say what they think-ever. And as the cameras begin to roll, they are confused as to what to do, what to say, yet their natural, organic approach to just let it all hang out makes for very funny tv.

In their stereotypical New Yorker kind of way of communicating, the crew follows the chaotic lives of this construction family. Billy Lougheed, the head cheese at WJL Equities, or so he thinks, as we all come to know who really wears the pants in the family: his wife Danielle. It’s a miracle that Billy gets through his day of managing a business with a  payroll of 1 million dollars a month by not having a heart attack. His meltdowns are intense, yet his ability to move on to the next task of the day is impressive.

His stressful days are made easier by his mom, Joan who comes to clean his house everyday, and then after that, the office. She’s quite the character herself, and not shy to say exactly what is on her mind. This cute grandma isn’t deterred from sharing something risqué. She used to be quite prim and proper, but in her golden years, she’s picked up some comedic delivery skills. Things that come from  her mouth is shocking, and funny at the same time. Your grandmother doesn’t say things like this, but boy do you wish she did. What a fun lady!

Billy has plenty of help at the business from his father “Sarge” who is a former deputy sheriff. He’s never short of words, or zippy one liners you want to commit to memory to use yourself at some point. He still thinks he runs the show, and bitches and moans to get his way.

“Chubby” is a star in his own right, and he shows us all how it's done to do absolutely nothing throughout the day, yet manage to remain employed, and secretly adored by everyone.

Whether he’s being yelled at to keep his chin up in a group picture—because he is quite, um, fat (sorry Chubby), or chastised for being late to work so he could have ample time to pick out his swanky outfit for the premiere show, Chubby adds an element of funny that reminds me of watching a character on the hit show, The Office.

As the crew films, it’s a barrier that does not remain intact, and the two sides mesh into one awesome production. Network executives have been saying for quite some time that they need something different in docu-reality…and this show definitely delivers.

Highly recommend! *****
