UPDATE 1-Tesco slashes profit forecast and dividend as trading slumps

LONDON, Aug 29 (Reuters) - Britain's biggest retailer Tesco cut its profit forecast for the third time in three years and slashed its interim dividend by 75 percent as tough operating conditions continued to ravage its business.
