Apollo Education Group and Roadtrip Nation Join Social Innovation Summit 2014

Apollo Education Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: APOL) and Roadtrip Nation will join some of today’s most inspiring leaders, thinkers and practitioners at the Social Innovation Summit 2014 on Nov. 19 in Redwood City, Calif. Pat Gottfried, vice president of Corporate Social Responsibility for Apollo Education Group, and Roadtrip Nation Co-Founder Mike Marriner will participate in an interactive workshop exploring how organizations can develop corporate social responsibility strategies that will resonate with the millennial generation.

“Roadtrip Nation captures stories of impact from all across the country. We are thrilled to partner with Apollo Education Group at this year’s Social Innovation Summit to magnify these narratives, exposing employers to the various approaches in engaging millennials through social responsibility,” said Marriner.

The workshop, titled Engaging Millennial Workforce is the Roadmap to Achieving Social Impact and Success, will explore the need to build relationships with millennial employees to spark their passions and create opportunities to engage their professional and personal interests. Attending employers will join in discussions on developing a “triple platform” of involvement at the company, department and personal levels to better develop the meaningful relationships around social responsibility that millennials demand from organizations.

“Millennials are highly engaged in social responsibility, but very specific about how they do it, focusing on supporting individuals and issues rather than organizations and institutions,” said Gottfried. “Apollo Education Group is excited to join with Roadtrip Nation and the Social Innovation Summit to engage in opportunities with employers to help them better learn how to enact real community action amongst their millennial workforce in a way that’s meaningful to the organization, the employee and the community.”

The Social Innovation Summit is a twice-annual event taking place at the United Nations and Silicon Valley where leaders in technology, investment, philanthropy, international development and business come together to investigate solutions, catalyze inspired partnerships and not only explore the next big thing, but to build it.
