“We are honored that Vitalboards was chosen from the vast expanse of innovative products we saw at the show,” says Frank Hastings Jr, Partner at Vitalboards. “Our team has worked exceptionally hard to breathe life into this public safety program, and it gives us confidence we have created something truly special when we receive this caliber of accolade.”

The program, which consists of two components, assists first responders in the effort of saving lives by providing patient medical information. The first component is an 8-1/2” x 11” full color, custom branded, write-on/wipe-off memo board with pen and clip that mount to the refrigerator door. On the reverse side, there are areas for the homeowners to list their vital medical information. An EMS weatherproof decal is also provided that mounts on or near the front door of the residence, and alerts first responders to the presence of the Vitalboard.

The second component is a custom branded, in case of emergency app called Vital ICE. Free to download for iPhone and Android (soon to be released), Vital ICE allows users to list their vital medical information for emergency situations outside the home. There are many features that can assist not only first responders, but the users themselves, in instances when self-treatment is necessary.

Vital ICE also acts as a communication link between the EMS/FD and app users. Access to a back office web portal is provided at no cost, so that the EMS/FD can do some basic content management, as well as send out periodic push notifications directly to app users, such as Amber Alerts, boil orders, disaster alerts, fundraising event reminders, and reminders for voting for a particular bond issue. A ‘Donate Now’ button can be enabled and assigned a link to PayPal, allowing users to donate to either the EMS/FD itself(volunteer organizations), or any other charitable cause throughout the year.

“The Vitalboards program provides our customers with a cost-effective solution to augment their current public relations efforts, while providing a public safety program that citizens will actually use,” adds Hastings.
