More Leading ISVs Go “All-In” with AWS

Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), an Amazon.com company (NASDAQ: AMZN), today announced that leading enterprise technology partners MicroStrategy, Software AG, TIBCO, and Onshape have declared themselves “all-in” with AWS. These companies join other leading ISVs like Acquia, Emdeon, IMS Health, Informatica, Infor, Pegasystems, and Splunk, who have chosen AWS as the core infrastructure platform that powers their SaaS solutions.

The cloud has become the preferred way to deliver enterprise IT solutions to customers around the world as it offers a level of availability, security, and global accessibility that is difficult to replicate in traditional on-premises IT environments. By building their solutions on the AWS Cloud, technology partners can leverage AWS’s broad and deep platform capabilities and global scale to innovate quickly and meet the demands of enterprise customers around the world.

“As cloud computing becomes the new normal for IT, companies expect applications and software products to be consumable in the cloud – in a manner that is secure, always available, and accessible instantly from anywhere around the world. To serve these customer needs, ISVs require a cloud platform that has all of the infrastructure and platform services to support their current solutions as well as their future innovations,” said Terry Wise, Vice President of Worldwide Partner Ecosystem, AWS. “AWS continues to expand the breadth of AWS services, and the depth of features within them, so that our ‘all-in’ ISV partners like MicroStrategy, Software AG, TIBCO, and Onshape can focus on delivering innovative solutions to their customers instead of managing infrastructure.”

MicroStrategy is a leading provider of enterprise software for analytics, mobile solutions, and security. MicroStrategy Secure Cloud enables enterprises to quickly and easily build rich business intelligence and data analytics applications, and deliver results to mobile enterprise users through an intuitive password-free biometric authentication platform called Usher. AWS enables MicroStrategy to deliver their software and a variety of data services, including data integration and data warehousing, to customers across the globe. “Our customers should experience the most powerful and flexible analytics on the most powerful and flexible cloud,” said Paul Zolfaghari, President, MicroStrategy Incorporated. “Going ‘all-in’ with AWS was a natural decision. We have heavily invested in integrating our software platforms with numerous AWS services including Amazon Redshift, Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), and Amazon Elastic MapReduce (EMR), allowing us to provide the market with easy access to truly transformative enterprise software in a more cost-effective manner.”

Software AG is a leading German software vendor. The company’s big data, integration, and business process technologies enable customers to drive operational efficiency, modernize their systems, and optimize processes for smarter decisions and better services. Software AG has chosen AWS to run their cloud infrastructure to enable them to move quickly, reduce costs, and better serve their customers. “Software AG’s Transformation to the Cloud initiative is designed to help enterprises identify and implement their optimal cloud adoption strategies,” said Dr. Wolfram Jost, CTO, Software AG. “Software AG chose to go ‘all-in’ on AWS because they offer outstanding operational efficiency and the widest geographical footprint, enabling Software AG to focus on our core offering – building a highly differentiated, value-added solution for our customers across the globe.”

TIBCO offers one of the broadest enterprise portfolios of infrastructure and business intelligence software products in the industry, known as the Fast Data platform. The platform combines three major assets: Analytics, Integration, and Event Processing, providing real-time awareness to take instant action. “Businesses are accelerating their pace of deploying new solutions and moving existing workloads to the cloud,” said Matt Quinn, Executive Vice President, Products and Technology and Chief Technology Officer, TIBCO. “Going ‘all-in’ with AWS allows TIBCO to provide our customers with easy access to our Fast Data platform delivered from the cloud. AWS provides us with the global reach, reliability, and performance that we require to provide Fast Data to customers anywhere at any time. Partnering with AWS ensures that businesses can take advantage of the innovations from TIBCO, allowing them to maximize the value of their data.”

Onshape is the first and only cloud-native 3D CAD system that lets all members of a design team work together using any web browser, phone, or tablet. Onshape was built from scratch on AWS for the way today’s engineers really work, giving them secure and simultaneous access to a single master version of their CAD data without the hassles of software licenses or copying files. Using a unique computational architecture on AWS, Onshape enables teams to develop, visualize, and collaborate using complex 3D models. “Onshape relies on AWS's high-bandwidth networks to allow secure, real-time collaboration between our users,” said John McEleney, CEO, Onshape. “The global placement of Amazon's Regions allowed us to easily distribute our compute instances worldwide to minimize latency to our users. The performance, reliability, and flexibility of AWS's services shortened Onshape’s time to market and gave us a huge technological advantage in the highly competitive CAD market.”
