World's Largest Renewable Energy Consulting Group Divides Into Four Teams
PRLog - April 23, 2015 - LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Lee Enterprises Consulting, the world’s largest renewable fuels consulting group is pleased to announce the addition of five new engineers and two additional Ph.D’s to its worldwide team of experts. The company is also pleased to announce that it has divided into four internal teams to handle biodiesel, ethanol, emerging technologies and solar/wind projects. The company has promoted Dr. Gerald Kutney to lead the Emerging Technologies Team and Bob Parkins, P.E. to lead its Solar/Wind Team.

He notes that the company has now grown to over fifty consultants, and has reached a point where each of these core businesses needed its own dedicated leadership. “Dr. Kutney is an imminently qualified expert, and his knowledge in the fields of pyrolysis, waste-to-energy (WTE), forestry bioenergy/bioproducts, gasification and emerging technologies made him the perfect choice to lead the Emerging Technologies Team,” said Lee. “Likewise, Bob Parkins is a Civil Engineer and renowned solar expert, making him the perfect selection to lead our Solar/Wind Team”.

The company also announced the addition of seven new experts:

Elizabeth Hood, Ph.D – Dr. Hood has an M.S. in Botany, a Ph.D. in Plant Biology, and more than thirty five years of experience. Hood will work in industrial enzymes, foreign gene expression, plant cell wall structure and protein targeting. Dr. Hood is a Distinguished Professor at a major university and owns companies that produce enzymes for biomass conversion from transgenic plants and help deregulate transgenic plants to produce those proteins and enzymes.

Kapil Lokare, Ph.D. – Dr. Lokare has a Ph.D, in Chemistry and has held positions at various globally recognized institutions in the USA, Netherlands, Australia, and Germany. Lokare resides in Berlin, Germany and will work in biomass upgrading, bio-butanol, bio-renewables, lignin (hydrothermal upgrading) and catalytic valorization of biomass, methane-to-methanol conversion, butanol biosynthesis, conversion of ethanol to higher hydrocarbons/higher value products, and selective deconstruction of biomass.

Doug Proctor, P.E. - Proctor has a B.S. and M.S.in Electrical Engineering and over thirty five years’ experience. His emphasis with the group will be overhead and underground transmission projects, encompassing engineering and design, environmental support associated with transmission line routing and substation site selection, pre-engineering studies to assess feasibility of options, structure design and selection, right of way acquisition, clearance requirements, cost estimates, preparation of contracts, contract administration, scheduling, establishing budgets and work plans, and construction management.

Dave Collier, P.E. - Collier has a B.S.in Electrical Engineering and over twenty five years’ experience. Collier will work on the group’s solar energy team, with an emphasis on low voltage solar design and construction. He will be the lead in the design and installation of commercial Photovoltaic (PV) Systems.

Charles Cuhna, P.E. - Cuhna has a B.S.in Electrical Engineering and over twenty five years’ experience. Collier will work in both the solar and wind teams, with an emphasis on the design of low and high voltage solar systems, substations, transmission lines, switching stations, underground feeder and fiber optics for solar farms and wind turbines.

Edmund Peterson, P.E. - Peterson has a B.S. and M.S.in Mechanical Engineering and over thirty five years’ experience. Peterson will work on both solar and wind energy projects, particularly in mechanical design. He will specialize in the analysis and design of machinery and mechanisms and in the study of rigid body dynamics and kinematics/robotics, power generation, electronics, semi-conductor, aerospace, defense, and biotech industries and has acquired an extensive background in design and analysis.

Mark Carey, P.E. Carey has a B.S. and M.S.in Civil Engineering and over twenty five years’ experience. Given his extensive experience in water treatment plant upgrades and expansions, energy monitoring systems, renewable energy, water metering, water/energy audits, and related planning and efficiency studies, Carey will work on both solar and wastewater projects, specializing in civil engineering, energy efficiency and management consulting services for the water industry.
