US STOCKS-Futures higher but investors remain cautious

Sept 3 (Reuters) - U.S. stock index futures were higher on Thursday but investors remained wary of taking big positions a day before the release of the monthly jobs report, which may be a critical factor in the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision.
