China (21%), Turkey (9%), Italy (6.0%) and Germany (5%) were the leading destinations of polypropylene in primary forms imports in 2013, together making up 40% of global imports. The share of Turkey increased (+2 percentage points), while the share of Mexico illustrated negative dynamics (-2 percentage points).
In 2013, Germany, Belgium and the U.S. were the main global suppliers of polypropylene in primary forms with a combined share of 23% of global exports. However, the fastest growing exporters from 2007 to 2013 were India (+17% per year) and Singapore (+15% per year). This rapid growth allowed India to significantly strengthen its position in the global export structure, from 3% in 2007 to 6% in 2013.
