In light of this remarkable record, Hanes has been invited to discuss the topic at the prestigious Business Expert Forum hosted at the Harvard Faculty Club by the Entrepreneurship Students Club of Harvard Business School, December 5, 2015 on the Harvard University campus.
Hanes credits his 28 years of leadership experience in the US Navy as a Division Commander with giving him the skills he now uses to help his clients launch their careers. “The potential for greatness is inside everyone,” Hanes said in a recent interview, “the Navy taught me how to find that potential inside of a person and bring it to the surface where they can see if for themselves and start to develop it. That’s what makes extraordinary sailors and it makes extraordinary thought leaders. They see it, they believe it, and they achieve it.”
After publishing his critically acclaimed book ‘BOLD’ Helping You Unleash the Hero Within, with the #1 Motivational speaker in the world Les Brown, Hanes used what he had learned about the process of positioning oneself and founded The Authority Syndicate to help emerging thought leaders. His latest best-seller, Your Debut as an Elite Thought Leader which he co-authored with Suzanne McIntosh and Lorinda Snyder, is an effort to reach out to tomorrow’s leaders and help them take their place on the stages of the world using a system that builds a sustainable business. “Thought leaders, the people at the front of the room, tend to get caught up in their message.” Hanes explains, “They are so busy creating change and making a difference, they don’t realize they are also creating a business. This book gives them a system for making that business run smoothly and generate a profit. We want our thought leaders to be profitable, to be able to support their families, because otherwise they will have to get off the stage and get jobs. Their leadership will be lost and that would be a shame.”
In addition to developing leaders through The Authority Syndicate, Hanes serves on the Executive Board of the Trickle Up Change Foundation where he heads programs designed to strengthen the economy, culture, environment and leadership of communities nationwide. His affinity for veterans has led to the creation of special programs designed to help them start and fund a business and get the recognition they deserve through publishing and media. He also serves as VP of The Local Marketers Association which works to help small businesses become wealth-building assets.
