Barnes & Noble Appoints William E. Wood as Chief Information Officer

Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE:BKS), the nation’s largest retail bookseller and a leading retailer of content, digital media and educational products, today announced the appointment of William E. Wood as Chief Information Officer. Mr. Wood joins the Company today from EZCORP, Inc. where he also served as Chief Information Officer. He will report directly to Ron Boire, Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Wood joined EZCORP, Inc. in 2014 where he led an organizational transformation in Information Technology and was named “2015 Austin IT Executive of the Year” by the Austin, Texas Society for Information Management. He has extensive experience in retail, with previous high-level IT roles at Bass Pro Shops, Brookstone, Inc. and Dollar General, Corporation. He also serves as an advisory board member for several companies including Magnetify, Corporation and Zeppelin, Inc., and is a 10-year veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Wood has a Bachelor of Arts from Kent State University and an MBA from Vanderbilt University. He is relocating to the New York metro area from Austin, Texas, with his wife, Aileen, and four children. He is actively involved in several non-profit organizations. He starts in his new position today, December 14.
