Call for Coffee Donations: Books-A-Million and Soldiers’ Angels to Host Coffee for the Troops Campaign May 1-29

There’s something comforting about waking up to a fresh cup of coffee. For many deployed soldiers serving overseas and veterans living in VA Hospitals with limited access to everyday goods, this beloved brew has become a distant luxury.

To help provide U.S. troops and veterans with a much appreciated taste of home, Books-A-Million is launching its seventh Coffee for the Troops campaign in partnership with Soldiers’ Angels. Starting May 1 through May 29, customers can show their support by purchasing a bag of freshly ground Joe Muggs Coffee at any Books-A-Million store or online at booksamillion.com. Books-A-Million will also contribute a bag of coffee for every five customer-purchased bags! All donations will be distributed to U.S. troops overseas and VA hospitals across the country through Soldiers’ Angels just in time for Independence Day!

“The continued support from Books-A-Million and their customers during the ‘Coffee for the Troops’ campaign is outstanding!” said Amy Palmer, President & CEO of Soldiers’ Angels. “Our troops are always requesting coffee and these donations will go a long way in boosting the morale of those brave men and women serving our country.”

Since 2012, Books-A-Million has partnered with Soldiers’ Angels to donate more than 240,000 bags of coffee to troops overseas or in VA hospitals. The company has exceeded its Coffee for the Troops campaign goals each year, collecting more than 57,000 bags for the 2015 holiday season.

“The continued success of the Coffee for the Troops campaign is a testament to the incredible support and appreciation our customers have for these brave soldiers and veterans,” said Natalie Blankenship, café buyer for Books-A-Million. “Year after year, we’re overwhelmed by their generous donations, and we’re looking forward to collecting even more coffee this year to send to service members in need.”

Customers can even leave a personalized message on each bag donated to show their admiration and appreciation for the services and sacrifices of U.S. soldiers. Customers who donate will receive a button to wear, showing their support.
