Ginflation? Brits drink so much gin it’s now used to calculate inflation

The juniper-flavored tipple has become so popular among the Brits that sales have boomed in recent years to a level where the Office for National Statistics can no longer ignore its existence. After a 13-years hiatus, the statistics office said on Tuesday is has now included the alcohol in its typical “shopping basket” that it uses to calculate inflation.
