Ustream.TV Named Finalist for 11th Annual SXSW Web Awards

Ustream.TV (www.ustream.tv), a web-based live video broadcasting platform, today announced it has been named as a finalist for the prestigious SXSW (South by Southwest) Annual Web awards, in the Film/TV category. The Film/TV category honors sites related to actors, television, films and the film industry, as well as online destinations that offer streaming video content.

Ustream.TV was among the elite group of finalists that stood out to the SXSW Interactive judging panel, said Shawn O Keefe, the Web Awards Coordinator for SXSW. Given the record number of submissions our judging panel received, the nomination separates Ustream.TV as the cream of the web crop, especially for sites launched in the past year.

The Annual SXSW Web Awards, presented this year by Adobe, uncover the best new websites and celebrate those who are building and implementing tomorrow's online trends. Hundreds of innovative web designers and developers from across the globe submitted websites in this year's competition. All sites entered into the competition have been launched or completely redesigned in 2007.

In addition to the Film/TV category nomination, Ustream.TV and finalists across all categories are qualified for the SXSW Peoples Choice Awards, which are determined by public vote online up until March 3rd, at: http://sxsw.com/peoples_choice/.

"Competition is tough for the sought-after SXSW awards, and that makes our nomination a valuable achievement," said Brad Hunstable, co-founder of Ustream.TV. We're thrilled to be recognized this year and believe this is a testament to the value we're bringing to millions of people across the Web."

Winners in each of the Web Awards categories (ranging from "Amusement" to "Blog" to "Music" to "Technical Achievement") will be revealed at the SXSW Web Awards Ceremony, scheduled Sunday evening, March 9 at the Hilton Austin Downtown.
