RedPrairie Corporation, a consumer-driven optimization company, has announced enhanced features for third-party logistics (3PL) providers in its newest Transportation Management (TMS) release. The new capabilities include a consignment booking portal, easier and more precise client billing and contract management, and an expanded collaboration portal – a component that allows customers, shippers, carriers, vendors and stores to share information and jointly manage shipments online.
“3PL providers face additional challenges beyond those of most shippers,” says Erv Bluemner, RedPrairie’s Vice President of Product Strategy, “They need tools to manage client contracts, correctly price and bill their services, and effectively communicate with customers and carriers. This new transportation management release provides those 3PL tools while offering a portal that speeds and simplifies interaction between all trading partners.”
The new transportation management (TMS) release is specially designed to automate information sharing, business transactions, and contract management, as well as invoice creation and adjustments between 3PLs and their clients. These features make each business relationship more efficient and transparent for all parties.
“We understand that working with several different customers in a complicated industry is a taxing endeavor,” says Bluemner, “The new transportation management release automates and simplifies this process, providing a level of visibility and customer service not previously available, resulting in happier customers and more profitable 3PLs.”
