Hoge Fenton Elects New Managing Shareholder

Hoge Fenton Jones & Appel, a leading Northern California business law firm, today announced that Steven D. Siner has been elected Managing Shareholder, effective January 1, 2009. Siner succeeds Kathryn Meier, shareholder and attorney with the firm’s employment law group. Together, Siner, Meier, and Daniel Ballesteros, shareholder and attorney with the litigation group, comprise Hoge Fenton’s Executive Committee.

"Hoge Fenton has a proud 56-year history marked by deep roots in the communities we serve. We are poised for more strategic growth in the Silicon Valley, Tri-Valley and Central Valley under Steve’s leadership,” noted Meier. “Firm management is not new to Steve, having served for several years on the firm's Executive Committee and as Chair of our Business and Tax Group. Steve has garnered the respect of the firm, from our most senior attorneys to our junior staff and across all of our offices. The expertise and leadership Steve brings will play a crucial and valuable role in deepening our existing client relationships while charting a course for success.”

Steve Siner commented, "As a long time San Jose resident and member of the legal community, it is a dream come true for me to be the managing director of the oldest and one of the most respected law firms in Santa Clara County. Being elected to this position is an honor almost beyond words for me. I'm excited and energized by the opportunity as well as the challenge that this position entails. I'm looking forward to working with my partners to keep Hoge Fenton at the forefront in the legal community and to continue its reputation as one of the best law firms in the valley."

Siner – who will divide his time between the firm’s Pleasanton and San Jose offices – has represented companies and individuals in myriad business, real estate, and wealth management matters. His typical clients are business owners, owners of commercial, professional, retail, and industrial properties, as well as high net worth executives and professionals.

Originally from Denver, Siner grew up in San Jose. He received his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and his J.D. cum laude from Santa Clara University. He is a 22-year resident of Pleasanton, where he lives with his wife and daughter. He serves on the advisory board of Congregation Beth Emek, also in Pleasanton.
