Data on private-sector jobs in April are scheduled for release at 8:15 a.m. from payrolls-processor Automatic Data Processing Inc. In March private-sector payrolls increased 209,000, led by the service-providing sector and small businesses. Markets look to ADP's report for some guidance on official government data to be released Friday that estimates both private and public employment. Economists polled by MarketWatch expect the U.S. Labor Department to report Friday that nonfarm-payroll employment rose 163,000 in April, compared with 120,000 in March. They also expect that the unemployment rate remained at 8.2%.
