As Chief Operating Officer of Vantage Appliances Inc., as well as throughout his brilliant professional career, Mr. Major has routinely exhibited the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be successful in the business world.
Established in 2008, Vantage Appliances Inc. has quickly earned a remarkable reputation as Calgary’s premier appliance service company, providing repair and maintenance services for Asko, Sub-Zero, Wolf, and La Cornue appliances. Douglas, who possesses extensive expertise in business management and appliance maintenance, serves as the company’s Chief Technician as well as being responsible for managing all major aspects of the business and overseeing the daily operations.
Prior to starting Vantage Appliances, Douglas spent over 32 years with Runde Appliance Service Ltd., where he served as Service Manager, overseeing, managing, and training the highly respected company’s service staff. He is also an incredibly talented photographer who served as President of Major Photographics for 18 years, which provided scenic, portrait, wedding and competitive dance photography services.
During his collegiate career, Douglas earned Certificates of Completion in Human Relations and Leadership Training for Managers from the Dale Carnegie Institute. He is also the past Speaker Chairman of the Alberta Professional Photographers Association. In addition, Mr. Major is a two time UCWDC Champion and the first Meile trained technician in Alberta, Canada.
