China consumer prices up 2.4% in March

China's consumer prices rose 2.4 percent in March from the year-ago period, just shy of a Reuters poll of a 2.5 percent increase. But wholesale inflation continued to decline, with producer prices falling 2.3 percent year on year, worse than a Reuters forecast of a 2 percent dip..
