The campaign has a goal of $16,000 which will be used for application development of the online service, as well as modifications necessary to enhance the user experience. Out of the funds raised, 70% will go toward the new applications while 30% of the campaign funding will be used for infrastructure growth. King said of the motivation behind iEulogy’s creation, “It’s common knowledge that when we lose someone having to decide what their final wishes would have been is hard enough while grieving. What’s worse is trying to locate documents and information that’s not only pertinent to the burial, but to the resolution of their lives. For this reason and many others we created iEulogy.”
Further personalizing the storage of necessary information after death, iEulogy also allows members to create messages for those they cared about by way of emails and audio/video files. King adds, “Sometimes we put off saying things because there’s never a right time to say them. Too often, what we want to say is just too big to gather the courage to say face-to-face. iEulogy solves that issue entirely.”
Doing away with the idea that memorable messages or necessary documents could get misplaced, damaged or corrupted iEulogy’s secure storage is kept entirely online. This feature allows users to update information regularly. iEulogy memberships can be purchased either monthly, yearly or by the lifetime. Monthly memberships are offered at $2.99 per month while yearly fees are $29.99 annually. A lifetime membership for iEulogy is $299.99.
Once membership is secured and files and messages are uploaded, members need only assign at least two “key holders” to have access to the account once they have passed away. Once key holders confirm the death of the iEulogy member they will then have access to the encrypted information stored in the account.
Crowdfunding rewards for the iEulogy crowdfunding campaign are a 50% discount on a year-long membership and a lifetime membership at a 67% discount. Rounding out the rewards is a Spouse Lifetime Membership which includes two accounts for a pledge of at least $180. Lastly, the Family Membership is offered at a 72% discount. The Family Membership includes four memberships for a pledge of at least $329.
