Virtustream Provides Full Managed Cloud “As-A-Service” Option for SAP HANA® Platform

Virtustream, the enterprise-class cloud software and services provider, today announced an agreement with SAP America, Inc. (NYSE: SAP) to provide an option for a full subscription service, including cloud infrastructure, software licenses and software maintenance, for the SAP HANA® platform. Virtustream’s customers will receive an affordable, ready-to-use, subscription-based offering so they can quickly and more easily reap the benefits of SAP HANA without the need to make large, up-front investments in hardware or software. This will allow customers to choose whether and when to build new capacities and competencies internally.

"With our new “as-a-service” offering for SAP HANA, we can help improve the ability of our enterprise customers to realize enormous benefits from the SAP real-time data platform," said Rodney Rogers, chairman and CEO of Virtustream. “Whether they are using SAP HANA to support individual applications like SAP Business Warehouse or SAP Business Planning and Consolidation, migrating an entire suite of SAP solutions or developing custom applications on SAP HANA, we are very pleased to provide an end-to-end cloud service, from software acquisition to ongoing support, all with one cloud delivery model.”

As a provider of cloud services for SAP solutions, Virtustream provides customers with a cost-effective, on-demand, cloud-based delivery model for SAP HANA, including guaranteed service levels, high-availability, and disaster-recovery functionality required for mission-critical enterprise applications. The company will supplement these services with optional professional services for application migration, implementation, management and support services.

Virtustream has migrated more than 350 instances of SAP HANA to the cloud for leading brands across a variety of industries including Hess, Domino Sugar, Scotts Miracle-Gro and many others. Virtustream’s xStream Cloud Management Platform and its underlying Micro-VMTM (µVM) technology make it possible for its customers to reduce IT expenditure, enjoy consumption-based pricing, and eliminate upfront capital expenditure for software and hardware, all while receiving top-tier SLAs and improving overall performance of the applications. As a result, customers are able to move any production and mission-critical enterprise applications to the cloud without re-engineering and combine on-site and cloud-based operations as required.

"We welcome Vitrustream’s “as-a-service” offering for SAP HANA," said Rodolpho Cardenuto, president, Global Partner Operations, SAP. "Collaboration with partners such as Virtustream is important to our overall strategy and vision for providing a more complete portfolio of cloud solutions.
