SRTT Founder, Zulya Rajabova, a native of Uzbekistan and former university professor, uses her deep homeland connections to craft the most in-depth cultural and educational experiences for members of educational institutions, museums, affinity associations, and all group travelers.
PRLog - April 2, 2015 - CHESTER, N.J. -- Silk Road Treasure Tours is offering a series of two different educational group tours for 2015-2016. These include: Following the Central Asia Silk Road (2015: June 2-19, July 10-27, August 14-31, September 18-October 4; 2016: June 2-19, August 4-21, September 15-October 2), and a Silk Road Study Tour to Uzbekistan (2015: June 3-12 and July 29-August 8; 2016: May 20-30, June 16-26, September 15-25).

These tours stand alone for several reasons. They focus on learning about the destination from knowledgeable experts. They offer extensive one-to-one interaction between visitors and locals. They include a pre-trip orientation and recommended reading list. However, most importantly, they are personally crafted by Silk Roads Treasure Tours’ founder, Zulya Rajabova. Zulya is a native of Uzbekistan, former university professor in Bukhara, and former tour guide for the Tourism Ministry of Uzbekistan. Says Zulya, “From a young age, I had an opportunity to meet travelers from around the globe, who came to the UNESCO World Heritage city where I lived.  I wanted to meet them and draw them into my home and show them more. Now I do this for each and every one of my travelers.”

Zulya places her personal passion and perspective into every tour. Her unparalleled connections open doors for her travelers. Yes, travelers see the best of the more than one thousand architectural monuments in the museum-like cities of Bukhara, Samarkand, Khiva and Tashkent, but beyond that, they experience the cities from the inside – with meals in peoples’ homes, and tea in their craft workshops, as these artisans produce silk fabrics, for example, using the same ikat dye patterning style as they have for over one thousand years.

Silk Road Treasure Tours allows travelers to individually feel the influence of world cultures and religions along the Silk Road.  Experiences include: a foray into the lives of students at the 16th Century religious Medressah (Muslim religious school) of Kukaldash in Tashkent; a tour of the Russian Cathedral of Holy Ascension, the largest wooden church in the world located in Samarkand; a jaunt through the Jewish Quarter and synagogue of Bukhara, one of the largest Jewish communities in Central Asia; and a visit to Magoki Attari, in the historic section of Bukhara, the original site of a Zoroastrian temple.

While working for the tourism ministry, Zulya escorted dignitaries and world leaders. However, in the United States since 2003, she now creates once-in-a-lifetime educational programs for international institutions and travelers. Zulya’s Central Asia Silk Road and Uzbekistan Study tours are ideal for alumni associations, museum members, university students, and other affinity groups. Zulya also creates tailor-made travel experiences to Central Asia, the Caucasus, China and beyond for all travelers. On a Silk Roads Treasure Tour, Zulya’s passion will become yours.
