Las Vegas Veterans Mission: Take Me Out To The Ball Game

By: PRLog
PRLog - June 23, 2015 - LAS VEGAS -- Everyone loves baseball –the excitement of the crowd, the thrill of the game. It’s hard to imagine how it could get any better. It can, though, when it helps benefit an organization that prevents Veteran suicides, and that is what is happening on July 9, 2015, at 5:00 p.m. at Cashman Field in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The first game of the doubleheader between the Las Vegas 51s and the Salt Lake Bees will help the For Purpose organization Forgotten Not Gone raise much-needed funds to help with the completion of its new Las Vegas Healing and Wellness facility while also showing support to veterans in the Las Vegas area. A portion of the proceeds from ticket purchases made via a special online portal will benefit this organization and aid in its mission to help end the depression and suicides that many of our veterans endure.

Forgotten Not Gone, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is dedicated to helping save veterans and their families from the destruction of suicide. Through emotional, physical and spiritual activities sponsored by the organization, veterans are encouraged to re-engage with society and are brought out of the isolation that many experience once they return home. Peter Guidry, co-founder of Forgotten Not Gone, knows firsthand the struggle and how much this organization aids veterans. Guidry says, "I feel like I’m serving this county again, but I no longer have to be violent to do so."

A booth will be set up for Forgotten Not Gone where there will be t-shirts available for a donation, a raffle for incredible Las Vegas 51s memorabilia, and a recumbent trike demo. Retired Air Force Senior Master Sergeant Mike McCracken, “One veteran who never left his post,” will be throwing out the first pitch of the game. There will also be $1 Budweiser beer at the game – proper identification and wristband required.

“We are so excited to have the opportunity to participate in this event,” says Air Force veteran Kelley Guidry, Founder of Forgotten Not Gone, Inc. “It allows us to raise much-needed funds to support our mission of saving our veterans' lives while providing the opportunity for us to get out in the community to meet and connect with our local veterans.”

Tickets are on sale now for $11, and by purchasing via this sales portal, a portion of the proceeds will go to Forgotten Not Gone, allowing the organization to continue supporting our veterans and helping to end 22 daily veteran suicides. Visit https://goo.gl/exGOlR and enter the Promo Code “Forgotten” to ensure the organization is credited. As an added bonus, those who purchase tickets only through this link will receive a free Las Vegas 51’s baseball cap.
