Afya Foundation Ships 2nd Round of Critical Supplies to Nepal

Partners with JDC,1199SEIU United Health Care Workers East and This Time Foundation on Shipment
PRLog - July 14, 2015 - YONKERS, N.Y. -- The Afya Foundation is packing its 2nd significant airlift of supplies to Nepal to support hospitals, health care providers and NGOs. Afya is sending 32 pallets of inventory valued at $250,000+ to National Academy of Medical Sciences-Bir Hospital, Kathmandu Model Hospital and Tevel b’Tzedek.

This shipment is financially supported by three partners, The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), a longtime Afya partner and humanitarian agency operating in disaster zones, including Nepal. The 1199SEIU United Health Care Workers East in New York and This Time Foundation in California are also partnering with Afya to support this shipment.

“The vital need for supplies and support continues in Nepal,” said Danielle Butin, Executive Director of Afya. "As we have done many times before, Afya is rallying support to ensure Nepalese victims get the suitable care and supplies they need to survive.”

K.I.D.S-Fashion Delivers donated tents and humanitarian supplies and Global Links contributed medical supplies to Afya’s upcoming shipment.

Items for donation include: tylenol, wound dressing supplies, surgical tools, glucometers and test strips, personal hygiene supplies, powdered infant formula, water filters, tents, tarps, cleaning supplies, tools, buckets and heavy duty garbage bags.
