Facebook users can now order food

The markets traded higher during the midday with the Dow gaining 41 points to 22,882. Nasdaq rose 17 points to 6,608.


Facebook users now will be able to order food through the social networking site. Orders can be placed with restaurants that have partnered with Facebook such as Chipotle, Five Guys and Papa John's or through food ordering services such as Delivery.com, DoorDash and EatStreet. The new food ordering feature is found by going to Explore, then Order Food.


Ford has offered to make repairs free of charge to 1.4 million Ford Explorer sport utility vehicles to prevent exhaust from entering the cabins. More than 2,700 complaints have been filed by customers that exhaust orders were noticed inside the vehicles. While the automaker said that it did not find hazardous levels of carbon monoxide inside the SUVs, the company will reprogram the air conditioner, inspect sealing and replace lift gate drain valves.


Google pledged to invest $1 billion to assist workers adjust to the changing job environment. The funds will be donated to nonprofit organizations over the next five years to fund education, economic opportunity and inclusion. Goodwill will receive $10 million for its Goodwill Digital Career Accelerator to provide 1 million people with digital skills and career opportunities.


In the broad market, advancing issues outpaced decliners by a margin of more than 3 to 2 on the NYSE while advancing issues barely edged out decliners by a slim margin on Nasdaq. The broader S&P 500 added 3 points to 2,554. Bitcoin soared $206 to $5,494.
