VALEMOUNT, BC, CANADA, December 16, 2011 /Stanford Who’s Who/ — Daniel Betts has earned the recognition of Stanford Who’s Who as a result of his phenomenal work in the publishing industry. As Editor of The Valley Sentinel, as well as throughout his brilliant professional career, Daniel has consistently exhibited the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.
Established in 1986, The Valley Sentinel is the community newspaper for the Robson Valley, located in Northern British Columbia. In his position as Editor, Mr. Betts is responsible for determining, reviewing, and handling the layout of the editorial content of the weekly publication. He also serves as a journalist for the newspaper, writing several articles each week. In addition, Daniel updates the content on The Valley Sentinel’s website.
Daniel has been writing since he was a child and has been working as a freelance writer for several years. He has written numerous small articles for publications and websites over the years. Mr. Betts also published his own book entitled, Open Channel, a science fiction/space opera novel which focuses on the consequences of prejudice and vengeance. The book is available on all the major readers such as Barnes & Noble, Sony, Apple and Kindle. Daniel is currently working on a sequel to Open Channel as well as an anthology of short stories based on the universe he created in the story.
During his collegiate career, Daniel earned an Associate’s degree in Retail Industrial Security/Law Enforcement at Lethbridge Community College. He has also earned a Journalism Certificate. Mr. Betts is a member of the British Columbia and Yukon Community Newspapers Association and the Canadian Community Newspapers Association. In 1982, Daniel was awarded 2nd Prize in the Creative Writing Competition at Prince Charles Secondary School.
