Blue Hill Research Supports Youth Education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).

Blue Hill Research has announced that it will be sponsoring winners of the 2014 Junior Science and Humanities Symposia (JSHS) Program in its efforts to help promote youth education of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. Blue Hill believes in the importance of promoting these fields to help better prepare students to make a positive impact on our future and society.

“We whole heartedly believe that STEM education is important to the future of our youth and of our country, “ says Blue Hill CEO Ralph Rodriguez, “We see helping in the sponsorship of the JSHS program as a way to give back in a manner that is consistent with what we as a company stand behind in active research STEM endeavors.”

The Junior Science and Humanities Symposia (JSHS) Program promotes original research and experimentation in the sciences, engineering, and mathematics at the high school level and publicly recognizes students for outstanding achievement. Individual students compete for scholarships and recognition by presenting the results of their original research efforts before a panel of judges and an audience of their peers.

Over $384,000 scholarships will be awarded to the 235 high school students have been selected from over 8,000 student competitors across the nation, including DoD schools in Europe, the Pacific and Puerto Rico, to present their research at the National Junior Science & Humanities Symposium (JSHS). This year the JSHS will be held in Washington, D.C. from April 23-27, 2014. JSHS is sponsored by the Army, Navy and Air Force and administered by the Academy of Applied Science.

The Academy of Applied Science is a 501(c)3 non-profit that has administered STEM programs where students apply scientific knowledge to life, research and inventions since 1963.
