The Board of Directors of Macquarie Global Infrastructure Total Return Fund Inc. (NYSE:MGU) (the “Fund”) unanimously approved on September 8, 2010 a regular quarterly distribution for the period ending September 30, 2010 of $0.16 per share.
The Fund also announced that Andrew Maple-Brown, Portfolio Manager of the Fund, will host a quarterly investor conference call on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 4:15 PM ET to discuss the Fund’s results for the quarter ended August 31, 2010.
“It was pleasing that the most recent Fund quarter saw good performance by the listed infrastructure sector,” said Mr. Maple-Brown. “This performance was supported by ongoing sound operational performance, as well as the emergence of corporate activity in the sector. The activity included potential transactions in the toll road sector for both Intoll and Abertis, as well as the announced sale by EDF of its regulated UK electricity distribution assets - all of which in our view demonstrate a recognition in the market of the value inherent within such infrastructure assets.”
Based on the Fund’s net asset value (“NAV”) of $19.12 and New York Stock Exchange closing market price of $16.20 on September 8, 2010, the $0.16 per share distribution is equal to an annualized distribution rate of 3.35% at NAV and 3.95% at market price, respectively.
A portion of the distributions may be treated as paid from sources other than net income, including, but not limited to, short-term capital gain, long-term capital gain and return of capital. The final determination of the source of all distributions in 2010, including the percentage of qualified dividend income, will be made by the Fund after December 31, 2010.
This distribution will be payable on September 30, 2010 to shareholders of record on September 23, 2010, with an ex-dividend date of September 21, 2010.
