Stocks soared this week as the passing of the French presidential election and strong earnings trumped the lack of details in President Donald J. Trump's tax plan . The S&P 500 gained 1.5% this week after declining 0.2% to 2,384.20 today, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 1.9% this week after dipping 40.82 points, or 0.2%, to 20,940.51.
