Baton Rouge General and PHNS Announce New IT Outsourcing Services Agreement

Baton Rouge General, its parent General Health System and PHNS Inc. today announced a new three-year agreement under which PHNS will provide information technology (IT) staffing and related services to Baton Rouge General and General Health System.

PHNS has provided IT services to Baton Rouge General and General Health System since July 2000. The new contract is effective October 1, 2009.

We are pleased to work with our long-term IT service provider, PHNS, said Dionne Viator, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the General. We have made a significant investment in IT to optimize patient care and transform our hospital into the top tier of hospitals in the nation for the effective use of information technology. The PHNS staff is very familiar with our organization, our needs and our IT initiatives. PHNS provides us with excellent quality of services as well as consistency which is critical to IT initiatives, added Viator.

The agreement enables us to provide critical IT services to a valuable hospital partner, Baton Rouge General, which recently was named as one of the Top 25 Most Connected Healthcare Facilities in the nation by Health Imaging and IT magazine, said Rick Kneipper, Chief Administrative Officer and Co-Founder of PHNS.
