Galaxy Systems, Inc. Participates in Trademark Expo to Raise Intellectual Property Awareness

“Galaxy Systems is happy to participate in this event to raise awareness about intellectual property and to provide people with an opportunity to find out that it is fun to learn about intellectual property,” Timothy Trainer, Galaxy Systems, Inc.’s President, stated at the beginning of this year’s event hosted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. “Our BIZWIZ intellectual property game tool is aimed at simplifying intellectual property and demonstrating how important intellectual property is to a business and to economic development. All too often, intellectual property specialists make reference to this, but do not demonstrate or show what these words mean,” Trainer continued. “In our BIZWIZ game, the player can see how intellectual property assets are actively used to prosper. While the current economic climate is posing extreme challenges, this situation underscores the importance of investing in intellectual property assets for growth.”

Galaxy Systems, Inc.’s online interactive tool is aimed at demonstrating the value of intellectual property to those who may have no legal or technical background. For years, government and industry have been searching for effective messages to address the rampant violation of copyrights, trademarks and other forms of intellectual property without much success.

Trainer stated that “The enforcement message is important, but so, too, is the message that intellectual property is something to be recognized and applied in daily economic activity. There is a positive intellectual property message that should also be promoted. We are happy to participate in the Expo and to allow people to experience BIZWIZ and see that intellectual property education is fun and is applicable in the real business environment.”

Mr. Trainer established Galaxy Systems, Inc. in 2007, separate and apart from his legal consulting business. The company’s objective is to create online intellectual property education tools. The enterprise aims to provide a creative and broad-based learning approach that focuses less on the legal and technical aspects of intellectual property and promotes the general application of intellectual property. Mr. Trainer has worked in government agencies and in the private sector dealing with enforcement and policy issues. He is also an adjunct law professor at American University.
