BakBone Senior Vice President Ken Horner Named 2009 American Business Awards Finalist

BakBone Software® (OTCBB:BKBO), a leading provider of Universal Data Management solutions, today announced that Ken Horner, senior vice president of Corporate Development and Strategy, has been named an Executive of the Year – Computer Software Category finalist in the 2009 American Business Awards (ABAs). This nomination follows CEO Jim Johnson’s accomplishment as a finalist in the 2008 American Business Awards in the Best Executive – Computer Software category. More than 2,600 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories.

Horner is responsible for the worldwide roll out of BakBone's overall strategy and business development activities that drive future growth for the company. He has led direct sales development and channel management activities and has been instrumental in driving revenue growth in the North America region.

During his time with BakBone, Horner has successfully led the company through corporate partnerships, worldwide marketing initiatives, technology acquisitions and global strategic alliances. This work includes the recently announced acquisition of ColdSpark, a leading provider of enterprise e-mail infrastructure solutions and platforms, and technology assets from Asempra Technologies, a developer of real-time data protection and recovery solutions for Windows applications and file system data.
