Rising Coal Demand Lifts Coal Stocks

Shares of James River Coal Co. (Nasdaq: JRCC) surged 73 cents to close at $3.42 and Patriot Coal Corp. (NYSE: PCX) climbed 12 cents to close at $1.59 over expectations that coal demand will increase in India and China.
