
The International Association of Healthcare Professionals has carefully selected Brett S. Sanders, MD, to represent orthopedic surgery in their publication, The Leading Physicians of the World. Dr. Sanders’s selection is a significant representation of his passion and dedication for the field of orthopedic surgery. He is considered to be one of the best among his many years in practice.
Dr. Sanders works for the Center for Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Dr. Sanders specializes in shoulder, open shoulder, and upper extremity surgery, while also doing knee replacement surgeries. He is fellowship trained in the shoulder and sports medicine at the world renowned Harvard University, and followed that up with a hand and upper extremity fellowship at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Dr. Sanders is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, with a second qualification in sports medicine.
A philanthropist as well as a physician, Dr. Sanders has a membership on the Board of Emily’s Power for a Cure. This organization promotes neuroblastoma research and family support. He is also a Founding Member of the Children’s Trust benefiting the TC Thompson Children’s Hospital, part of the Erlanger Health System in Tennessee. In addition to his charity work, Dr. Sanders is also the co-author of a chapter in Medical Management of the Surgical Patient: A Textbook of Perioperative Medicine, published in 2003. His chapter was surgery on hip fractures. Dr. Sanders has also published numerous journal articles and has been a research presenter all around the world regarding shoulder and elbow surgery.
