Tripwire Announces Expanded Federal Support for Tripwire Enterprise

Tripwire, Inc., a leading global provider of advanced threat, security and compliance solutions, today announced expanded platform and policy support for National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) 800-53 Revision 4 and expanded coverage of DISA STIGs in Tripwire® Enterprise. Tripwire Enterprise announced support for NIST 800-53 Revision 4 at the end of 2013 and this release expands the comprehensive coverage already available for this standard.

Tripwire Enterprise is used to protect many of the largest, most sensitive government networks in the world, and the company invests heavily in support for federal government standards. Tripwire Enterprise delivers change audit and threat detection with exacting precision, intelligent business context and remediation insight. Tripwire was the first vendor to complete SCAP 1.2 validation under NIST's National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) and has been FIPS 140-2 compliant since 2010.

Federal government agencies are under immense pressure to improve cybersecurity through an increased focus on risk management initiatives, such as Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) and Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) compliance. Tripwire Enterprise solutions combine the power of configuration management, change and threat detection, and file integrity monitoring, to deliver continuous compliance and automated audit evidence collection.

“Tripwire has been a strong supporter of government security standards for over 15 years,” said John Klein, director of federal sales for Tripwire. “We’re committed to delivering continuous diagnostics and mitigation solutions that help government agencies and contractors become both compliant and secure.”

Expanded NIST 800-53 Revision 4 coverage in Tripwire Enterprise includes:

  • AIX versions 6.1 and 7.1
  • ESXi 5.1 and 5.5
  • SUSE version 11
  • RHEL 5
  • Solaris 10 and 11
  • Windows Server 2003

Tripwire Enterprise now also covers DISA RHEL 6 v1r3, and DISA RHEL 5 v1r6.

“Tripwire continues to invest heavily in policies that support our government partners,” said Dwayne Melancon, chief technology officer for Tripwire. “With over 400 policies and platforms supported, Tripwire currently offers the broadest coverage in the industry, and we focus significant resources on optimizing coverage specifically for government organizations.”
