Crossroads acquires MeriCar.com to further boost it’s rapid expansion plans

• Acquisition to strengthen its garage aggregation business
• Target to grow four-fold by FY2017

Crossroads India Assistance Pvt. Ltd., India’s largest road side assistance services company has acquired MeriCAR.com, India’s first online aggregator of car garages. The acquisition will enable Crossroads to strengthen its garages network across the country. As a part of this acquisition  MeriCAR.com founder Rakesh Sidana will be joining Crossroads and will be heading a newly created vertical:- Point of sales and services(POSS) Network. Crossroads initiated a high speed growth plan working on a 360 degree approach, early last year and is all looking at a four-fold growth by FY2017.

Speaking about the acquisition Mr. Puneet Sharma, Chief Operating Officer, Crossroads said, “We are creating a marketplace for garage owners and mechanics to expand our reach geographically and increase our customers’ base with new product line of automobile related service packages. This Acquisition would help us to build a branded garages network across India using MeriCAR existing network infrastructure. The deal also broadens our intellect power –with Mericar team on board, we would be able to fasten our garage aggregation process, which we look as a key growth driver for us going forward.” Last year Crossroads upgraded its Service offerings with new brand identity, adding industries best brains in terms of work force, launching the entire digital platform for its services thru technology led innovations, upgrading the infrastructure and reach with new product range.

Started in 2008 as listing model, MeriCAR created a unique value proposition for helping car owners for repairing and car servicing. The company has recently expanded its retail sales teams to energise it’s operations in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, West Bengal, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Orisa and Rajasthan. Post this acquisition, Crossroads would soon be surpassing 1000 branded garages across India. The company wants to grow this number to over 5000 garages in next two years time.
