Concord Law School to Celebrate 22nd Graduation

Concord Law School of Kaplan University, the nation’s first fully-online law school, will celebrate its 22nd graduation on Saturday, August 2, at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. The graduating class includes 34 graduates of the Juris Doctor program and 23 who earned an Executive Juris Doctor degree.

Saturday’s keynote speaker is Deborah A. David who began practicing law in California in 1975 and served as the first woman president of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (formerly the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Association). In 1997, she was elected by her peers as Trial Lawyer of the Year. She has also served on the Boards of the California Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Business Trial Lawyers of America and the American Board of Trial Advocates. Ms. David has been a full-time mediator since 2000 and has resided in the UK since 2002. She works through the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), a UK based non-governmental organization providing mediation services and mediation training throughout the world and through JAMS and JAMS International. Ms. David specializes in civil litigation matters including business, employment, personal injury and clinical negligence. She has taught dispute resolution in Asia, Europe, India, Africa, the Middle East and America. Ms. David has been affiliated with Women for Women International since 2005 and currently serves as the Chair of its UK Board of Trustees as well as a member of its US Board of Directors. Ms. David is also a member of the board of trustees of Scripps College. Ms. David earned her bachelors degree from Scripps College and her Juris Doctor from U.C.L.A.
